Women’s Leadership Forum
Leveraging Leadership: Power and Privilege
While women prominently lead arts institutions and attain various levels of power, they are not immune to the societal systems of patriarchy and white supremacy. So how do female arts leaders view their own relationship to power and privilege? Using a lens of racial and gender equity to help unpack these issues, this day-long forum will provide insights from seasoned leaders in the field, a workshop to help understand the framework of oppression which allows power and privilege to exist, and an open dialogue about what women can do to both mitigate the impact and utilize the advantages of privilege and power to support and encourage one another. Organized and presented by Women of Color in the Arts.
