A facilitated conversation for members of Dance/USA’s Community Engagement and Education Directors and Staff Affinity Group.

The focus of the conversation will center on authentic coalition building – embedding community and culture within one’s organization. Attendees will be joined by a guest speaker and we will hear from three Affinity Group members on how “coalition-building – embedding community and culture” manifests as a result of their respective programs. There will be significant time for Questions and Comments.

• What essential components are needed to build and sustain coalitions that are authentic, inclusive and culturally competent?

• Why should we consider and explore multiple pathways in coalition building?

• How can we promote and encourage equity, engagement and action across our organization's internal structures to interface with the broader community?
